Matty Edwards

I'm a freelance journalist based in Bristol. 

For seven years, I was a reporter and editor at local media coop the Bristol Cable. I write features and investigations about politics, housing, transport, health and the environment.

About Me

Between 2018 and 2025, I worked at the Bristol Cable as a reporter and editor. On top of my reporting, I led editorial projects, including on solutions journalism, the climate crisis, and local and general election coverage.

I've written for other national publications, including the Guardian, openDemocracy and VICE.

I've also done research into local council finances for Research For Action and mentoring in solutions journalism.
